Nancy earned an undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College in South Carolina, a Master of Science in Social Gerontology from Central Missouri State University, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila College. She is a certified Trained Trainer for Individual Critical Incident Stress Management and Peer Support, Grief Following Trauma, Suicide Awareness, Prevention and Intervention, Group Crisis Intervention, and Law Enforcement Perspectives for CISM through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). She holds a Certificate of Specialized Training on Schools and Children Crisis Response with the ICISF. She is a certified trainer in Traumatic Grief by the Office for Victims of Crime, a trainer on Death Notification through Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, and as a trainer for Community Emergency Response Teams by FEMA. Nancy is a Certified Trauma Specialist with the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. She is Board Certified in Bereavement Trauma with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and has completed Mass Fatalities Incident Response Planning from the National Mass Fatalities Institute. For the past 25 years, Nancy has been actively involved as a grief counselor and trauma specialist. She has provided numerous workshops and seminars on various topics of grief and trauma, as well as CISM trainings. Nancy is the founder and volunteer director of the Trauma Support Network. She is an active member of the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists, The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
