Ms. Sanders-Mowbray is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare, receiving the Master of Social Work degree in 1990.  She started working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in 1991.  She has worked in VA medical centers in Topeka, Wichita and Kansas City.  For the past 7 years she has been with the Kansas City, Missouri Vet Center-Readjustment Counseling Service, which is also a program within the Department Veterans Affairs.  She completed a two-year post graduate program in Clinical Human Sexuality at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry and Mental Health Sciences in 1994, and currently serves as the military sexual trauma counselor at Kansas City Vet Center.  Ms. Sanders-Mowbray provides individual and group therapy for combat veterans and their families, as well as bereavement counseling for military families.  With her professional training and experience, she has been invited to lecture at numerous professional meetings and seminars.  She enjoys providing field instruction to graduate social work students and is licensed to practice social work in Missouri and Kansas and has the ACSW credential through NASW.
